Date Inventory Completed: 6/2/15

Screening

  • Is there data available for 2013?
  • Can we access the data by August 15th?

Does this dataset appear to meet our needs for the Census study? YES

ExplanationThe Michigan Center for Educational Performance and Information is currently in the process of linking of primary education, higher education, and workforce. Currently all K-12 student have a UIC (unique identification code) that some Michigan Universities have kept, so there is the ability to link primary and higher education for student that go to particular universities that have already been linked. Also, they do not give a specific time frame for how long a data request takes, but it does say there is a minimum turnaround time of two weeks.

Describe any other notes you have or any gaps/concerns you see with this dataset: Since they are still in the process of linking education data, it is unclear how many colleges they have actually been able to link data to, if it is only a specific type of college (i.e. community college) this could affect analysis.
