No

  • Are there unique IDs for unique elements that can be used for linking data?

Yes

  • Can K-12 be linked to higher ed or higher ed to workforce?

Yes

  • Links to codebooks:

N/A

Accuracy

School level information is openly available on a dashboard and this data can be downloaded as a csv.

http://learndc.org/schoolprofiles

http://osse.dc.gov/publication/commonly-requested-data

  • How is the student-level data accessed?

Researchers can submit a request to OSSE's online data request form at https://osse.sp.dc.gov/osse/EDM3/Public/Pages/P.aspx. DC is currently under a data-sharing moratorium, where all requests need to be approved by the DC data administrator. As a result this process has been greatly delayed. Would need to have an MOU with the state. Moreover, many of the education data is not available at the student level.

  • Note if IRB is needed or any other restrictions on accessing data.

Would need an IRB from VT.

  • Any records or fields collected, but not included in data source?

Any portions of LEA-level and school-level data that identify student-level data will be treated as sensitive and may not, with limited exception, be disclosed without written consent of the parent of the identified student.

  • Cost? - One time or annual or project based payment?

No
